Perfect. That’s what I want this article and every article to be. I want my every decision to be PERFECT. When I say I want the BEST, I am really thinking, I want PERFECT.
Do not pursue perfection. Why? Because there is no such thing as perfection. There is only what one can achieve that is better than what you can achieve now. Yet paradoxically, man has the innate desire to pursue perfection.
In every decision, there is no perfection. There is however, a time for everything.
“I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift
Ecclesiastes 9:11
or the battle to the strong,
nor does food come to the wise
or wealth to the brilliant
or favor to the learned;
but time and chance happen to them all.”
Therefore, do not pursue perfection. Because time and chance happen to all. Instead, in every decision, choose to give yourself more opportunities.
Opportunities exist because you are connected to many people. The more people you are connected to, the more opportunities are present.
At the end of every academic year, graduating students in Singapore have a headache choosing which school to go to. Because there are too many choices!
A long time ago, no one had a choice. You just accepted and learnt the profession that your father and your grandfather chose. But nowadays, people leave the rural areas to connect to others in the cities, because that is where you can get the most choices and the most connectedness to others. And that is where opportunities abound!
So do not let opportunities trouble you. Just plan 3 to 5 years ahead and decide on the best plan for now. Later on, more opportunities will open up for you. All opportunities are hopeful!
Not perfect, just better.
